Data Management Policy

This policy applies to Phase 3 of the SPICE Trials.

Confidentiality of, and controlled access to the SPICE Trials data shall
be enforced by relevant agreements.

Only the registered members of the Trials Analysis Team will have access
to the Trials data for the purpose of data analysis. All data analyses
shall be to achieve the Trials objectives and formally approved jointly
by the International Trials Co-ordinators. All members of the Trials Analysis
Team shall be professionally and ethically bound to comply with this Data
Management Policy.

All data stored in the Trials Database shall be non-attributable either
directly or by inference.

The Trials Database shall be established at Griffith University, Australia
under the operational control of the Software Quality Institute at the
Griffith University. Griffith University shall provide data security to
prevent unauthorised access to the Trials Database.

Organisations providing data for the Phase 3 Trials retain the rights to
their data. Any organisation providing such data may request the data to
be removed at the completion of the analyses. Organisations may also permit
their data to be included in non-commercial benchmarking activities.

All data analysis and related technical reports produced using the data
from the Trials Database shall be reviewed and approved by the SPICE Management
Board prior to public release.

This policy shall be issued to all potential SPICE Trials participants.

A requirement to participate in the SPICE Trials is to return a completed
questionnaire set. The questionnaire set will include a statement of acceptance,
by the organisation providing the data, of this Data Management Policy
and its permission to use the data to fulfil the objectives of the SPICE
Trials.

This data will be retained for a period not exceeding seven (7) years after
the publication of ISO/IEC 15504 as an International Standard.

Unless otherwise agreed to in writing by the organisations providing the
data, all data will be destroyed after the retention period.
